Permanent Cosmetic Makeup

What is Permanent Makeup?

Permanent cosmetic makeup is the art and science of implanting color into your skin. Putting the right color in the right place allows you to look better naturally. Specialized instruments place color into the layer of skin known as the dermis. Because the outermost layer of the skin, the epidermis is always shedding and renewing itself, you look at the color through a thin veil of skin. When your procedure is complete, the color will appear darker than the final result. This is because the color is in BOTH the epidermis and the dermis. The color in the top layer flakes off during the healing process, leaving you with natural colors.

How Long Will It Take To Recover?

If you have a history of fever blisters or cold sores, it is advised to get a prescribed medication for swelling. Most procedures will heal within a week as tissue and swelling settles.

How Long Will My Permanent Makeup Last?

Permanent make-up is long lasting. However, as you become accustomed to your new makeup, it is not uncommon to want more. Eyeliners tend to stay longest. Brows and Lips are more unpredictable. They are affected by the use of cosmetics with exfoliates or not using sun protection. The darker the color, such as black, the longer it will stay unchanged in your skin.

Can I Remove My Permanent Make-up?

Because it is easier to add color and difficult to take away, your initial application of color may by lighter than you expect. A touchup a month or so later will adjust the color to your desire. The initial consultation is the time to discuss the finished color you desire. It is a team effort between you and your technician to get the perfect end result.

What If I Am Considering Plastic Surgery?

Cosmetic surgery and the use of anti-aging products is desirable for many reasons as we age. It is best to have laser or resurfacing treatments done first as these procedures can result in color loss or darkening of your makeup.
