Permanent Cosmetic Makeup... (continued)

What features do we enhance?

We perform the following types of procedures to enhance the natural beauty of your face: eyebrows, eyeliner, top and bottom; eyelash enhancement, full lip color, hair imitation and beauty marks.

What does it involved?

Your first appointment will be a consultation to decide what procedures will best enhance your face. It will also answer any questions you may have. Please wear your makeup so that we can compare it to the color we will be applying. If desired, the application of permanent makeup can be applied during your first consultation. Please schedule appropriately. It is normal after the first application of color that there will be some color changes.

Is this really permanent?

These cosmetic procedures are considered permanent because pigment is implanted into the dermal layer of the skin. Over time, fading will occur. When your permanent makeup fades, just schedule a maintenance appointment with your professional to refresh your color.

What if I don't like it?

On your follow-up appointment, your we have some flexibility to adjust the shape and color of your permanent makeup. Immediately after application, the colors will appear darker but will soften and lighten during the healing process which may take a week or longer depending on the individual.

Who benefits?

Cosmetic makeup can benefit everyone who wants a natural appearance improvement such as:

  • Physically active people who don't want to worry about sweating off their makeup and having to re-apply it.
  • Alopecia affected women and men who have lost eyebrows or eyelashes.
  • Chemotherapy patients who have lost all or part of their facial hair.
  • Post-surgical patients who want a reconstruction or redefinition of facial features.
  • Vision for motor impaired people who have difficulty applying makeup.
  • Sensitive skin people who can't use cosmetics because of allergies or other skin conditions.
  • Models, actresses and entertainers.
  • Mothers, busy professionals, (both men and women) anyone who wants to look their best at all times and doesn't have time to apply makeup.

What should you look for when selecting a Permanent Cosmetic Technician?

In Washington State, tattooing is regulated by the Department of Health. There is no prescribed requirement for training. The primary focus in this state is clearly health and safety regulations and controls. The selection of a trained, credentialed technician is at the discretion of the person seeking the service.

Seek technicians who have training, experience, and implement sanitation and sterilization standards to ensure your safety.

Training is the primary key – Can the technician you are considering show evidence of primary and continuing education training? Ask to see their training certificates and if they update their training each year.

Ask for references and look at before and after pictures of their clients. It is extremely important that he technician you pick does work that appeals to you.

Permanent Cosmetic Technician-continued:

Beyond training consider the following:

  1. We care greatly that your finished product is to your satisfaction.

The ability to communicate with your technician is of paramount importance. You will be telling your technician how you want to look and the color and design you prefer. Your technician will convey information during and after the procedure regarding after care, follow up appointments and important details to assure you the greatest satisfaction with your enhancement.

  1. Business professionals post or otherwise make available their city business license (This is not a tattoo license, but rather a license to conduct business in the city where they work.) Washington State does not require a specific tattoo license.
  2. Experience is very important when selecting a permanent makeup artist. Ask how long your technician has been providing permanent cosmetic services. Also, ask to see training certificates for formal training classes and seminars. Also ask who and where they have trained. In addition to my certifications, formal training courses and workshops. Consider the studio where permanent makeup is applied. Is the studio clean? It is important to review their safety standards.
  3. Also ask to see the technician’s before and after photo portfolios to help determine if the technician performs work that appeals to you. Make sure that photos are actually the work of the technician you are considering. Photo examples of work should also include examples of “healed work” as the appearance of the permanent cosmetic procedure changes during the healing process.
  4. Ask to see a certificate for Blood borne Pathogens Training. This is a class that professionals who perform invasive procedures may be required to take to learn how to perform safe procedures and prevent cross contamination. Permanent Makeup is a form of tattooing.

Ask to make sure that all of the procedures and pigments are MRI safety approved. If you have any questions regarding the information on this page of my website, or require additional information please contact me at: (509) 551-0338
